Filmmaker Liz Garbus explores the current state of free speech in post-9/11 America through case studies, historical perspective, and opinions from over a dozen well-known experts and opinion-makers. She relies perhaps most heavily on the insights of her own father, Martin Garbus, a high-profile attorney and longtime champion of the First Amendment, who is adamant in his view that free speech is an inalienable right that all American should fight to keep.
