HBO Documentary Films presents a harrowing and poignant film focusing on the 2014-15 Ebola outbreak – an epidemic of tragic scale which claimed tens of thousands of lives in several West African nations. According to the World Health Organization, to date there have been over 28,000 cases and over 11,000 deaths from Ebola worldwide – and many believe that numbers surrounding the outbreak are greatly underreported. Examining the crisis from different perspectives, the film will premiere Orphans of Ebola, which chronicles the fate of a 12-year-old boy in Sierra Leone, whose parents both died from the disease. The film underscores the courage, sacrifice and bravery of some truly inspiring individuals – as well as of those affected by this horrifying outbreak, all of whose lives will undoubtedly never be the same.Show more
