Abortion: Desperate Choices

Through footage filmed in and around the Women's Health Services clinic in Pittsburgh, as well as interviews with women whose lives have been shaped by choices made over the past half-century, this month's America Undercover documentary looks into the social and moral aspects of abortion. From the dangerous and illegal back-alley abortions that were commonplace in the days prior to Roe vs. Wade, to today's emotional confrontations at picket lines outside legal abortion clinics, the film uncovers the heart-wrenching drama of women whose personal decisions involving abortion have often been influenced or overshadowed by the prejudices of society and the politics of the day.
